If you have been following along on my Instagram stories, this bedroom transformation was created by my husband challenging me to do a bedroom makeover without spending more than $150 (before taxes). We were expecting guests and this bedroom has been neglected for years. It has become the recipient of furniture that I no longer use or don’t know where else to put. It’s basically the project that you always find an excuse not to do, that’s it!!
So here is a before photo so you can have an idea of what it looked like before…

Think about the feel you want to achieve
Top 3 things that I considered and asked myself while doing it:
What the room would be used for?
What is the environment feel you want??
What is your inspiration??
It’s important to consider every element involved when working on a space. It’s a guest bedroom so I was looking for a hotel/vacation feel where my guests could potentially feel relaxed and knowing they are on a home, but not in theirs.
Planning is Key!
When taking on this project I had to take on consideration the budget and my non-negotiables.
My non-negotiables were two things that I knew that by changing them it would create a huge impact on the bedroom.
1- Paint!!
TIP. Cheapest way to change a room without spending a lot of money.
2- Bedding issue
I already owned a bedding set, but that comforter wasn’t giving me “life” and I knew that after changing the color on the room I would have to invest in at least a new comforter. So I went for a safe option, white.
Let’s break it down
What I want you to take out of this project, if something, it’s that there are different ways to create beautiful rooms while staying within a low budget.
