MASTER BEDROOM REVEAL

It's time to reveal my master bedroom makeover. It was time for a fresh start with a new year on the sunrise.

Here is what it looked like since we moved in.

My bedroom was one of those spaces that I didn't touch since I bought my house years ago. So... I started by thinking about what I wanted for my master bedroom. Since it is my happy place, the words calm, fresh, oasis, etc. came to my mind right away.

What comes to your mind when thinking of a place?

New or used furniture

We decided to buy new furniture. Our bed had been with us for almost a decade so it was time to invest in a new mattress and new furniture. But don't worry! Our old furniture passed to my youngest after a makeover (of course) that I'll write about soon. We went to the store and ended up getting a light color furniture bedroom set because light colors give me a sense of calmness.

Paint and have fun with it!!

PAINT, PAINT, PAINT, PAINT....

Picking a color sometimes can be stressful. So here is some advice.

TIP. Buy small tester cans of paint of your preference and paint different areas of your room (dark and lighter walls or corners) to see which one you like more. You might end up surprising yourself and picking the one that you were not so sure about.

So I ended up getting Rain Dance (Behr). A bluish color with grey undertones that seemed very fitting with my ideas of calmness, oasis and an elegant theme. Then, I decided that it needed something else to spice it up. Guess what came to my mind?? A CHAIR RAIL!!! and so we did...

A matter of love...

After we painted, it was a matter of waiting on the furniture to arrive. I really love how everything turned out!!! It feels peaceful, clean, cozy, elegant, and our own piece of heaven.
